A school board has one job: make sure every child in the district gets a safe, serious education paid for honestly. Everything below flows from that single promise.

Academic Excellence

Schools exist to teach, and I will refocus GUHSD on the fundamentals: reading, writing, math, science, history, and real-world skills. Parents deserve to see and understand what their children are being taught, with transparent, age-appropriate curriculum and honest measurement of student progress. Core academics should remain the focus of our classrooms.

Balanced Budgets

East County families budget carefully every month, and their school board should do the same. I will prioritize responsible spending, protect classroom resources, and work to avoid relying on new bonds that increase costs for local taxpayers. I will support plain-English budget summaries for parents and taxpayers, independent audits, and transparent public reporting so our community can clearly see how every dollar is being spent.

Common-Sense Leadership

Leadership means listening first, making thoughtful decisions, and keeping the community informed. I will provide regular updates to parents and the community, create parent advisory groups, and seek meaningful feedback from families and community members. Board meetings should focus on what matters most: student learning, student safety, and student success, not personal agendas or special interest group priorities. I will work to keep discussions focused on the needs of our students and make decisions based on what best supports their education and future.
