On the sidelines
Weekend after weekend at local ballparks — the same fields, snacks and school spirit her own four kids grew up with.
Charissa McCullough
Candidate • Trustee Area 4
Her Story
Charissa McCullough is a mother of four, an educator, a businesswoman and a classroom parent volunteer — and she is running for the Grossmont Union High School District Board of Education, Trustee Area 4, because the decisions made in that room reach every kitchen table in Lakeside, Santee and East County.
She has never needed a political career to care about schools. She has lived it: packing snacks for early practices, reading with classrooms on volunteer days, stretching a small-business budget through lean months and standing up at public meetings when kids needed an advocate.
That is exactly the experience she will bring to the board — plain-spoken, practical and accountable to the families who elected her, not to insiders who didn’t.
“Parents deserve a board member who answers the phone, reads the budget line by line and remembers whose kids sit in these classrooms.”
Community Roots
Weekend after weekend at local ballparks — the same fields, snacks and school spirit her own four kids grew up with.
A parent volunteer at school events and reading days, putting books in hands and showing kids that neighbors show up.
Thousands of doors across Trustee Area 4 — listening first, talking second, and writing every concern down.
Why She’s Running
Core subjects first, distractions last. Teachers equipped and respected, students challenged and supported, and results measured honestly — not spun.
Every dollar traced back to a classroom. No blank checks, no vanity spending — just a budget a parent can read and understand.
Parents notified and involved, politics left at the door, and a board member whose phone number neighbors actually have.
